Video Pins are a great way to market on Pinterest and a powerful marketing strategy! In this blog post, I’m sharing how you can begin creating video pins even if you don’t have videography expertise, graphic design skills, or fancy software!
EASY WAY TO CREATE VIDEO PINS
Video is a powerful medium to market your business and it’s not going away any time soon. In fact, it is actually growing year after year. Pinterest introduced video pins to the platform in 2018 and they can completely upgrade your Pinterest game. Here’s why, Pinterest is pushing more videos on their platform than ever before. Meaning, that your chance of going viral or being seen on Pinterest by using video has increased.
How to USE CANVA TO CREATE VIDEO PINS
Canva is a free tool that allows you to design and customize logos, business cards, social media, and so much more. It is a great tool for beginners and offers hundreds, if not thousands, of templates for you to make your own.
To begin, login to Canva and choose the Pinterest Pin.
This will open up into a new page that has the correct sizing for Pinterest Pins. On the left hand side, there are multiple different templates that you can choose from that you can make your own.
Try to pick templates or themes that closely resemble your brand and the ‘vibe’ you want to give off to people when they are looking at your posts online.
Next, enter the title of your post, switch brand colors to your own, switch fonts! You can also animate the fonts as well by clicking the upper left hand button that has two circles and may be labeled “Rise” Once you click on it you are given a few different ways you can animate the text and imagery on the page. You can do this alone to make a video pin, or you can add stock footage or your own video to the pin.
Canva offers you free stock videos to choose from or you can click upload and upload your own. Then just drag the video to where you want it to be. You can trim the video to make it shorter and crop it as well if you want to capture certain areas of the video instead. Canva also has stock music that you can add to your videos as well if you think they work well with your content!
Next, click the down arrow on the top bar next to the Publish on Pinterest Button. Then you can either save the MP4 Video (which I recommend) or you can create a gif!
Congrats you are done making your Video Pin for Pinterest!
